The Company
Ecosystems Investment Management (Australia) Pty Ltd
EIMA was established as an organisation in 2008 and was incorporated in 2010. The organisation is a meeting of minds for a number of diversely experienced individuals who have a common goal of sustainable, socially responsible and environmentally conscious investing. Our organisation boasts expertise including 21 years in funds management, 40 years experience in cattle property procurement and management, and 60 years experience in successful Traditional Owner engagement.

Indigenous entities are major shareholders of EIMA. EIMA has an overriding obligation to act responsibly and ethically and in the best interests of Investors but at the same time, through the operation and management of the Fund’s agricultural projects, EIMA will seek to promote opportunities for Indigenous Australians, including business development, employment, education and training. The involvement of Indigenous communities will be underpinned by the development of pride and social justice within the Indigenous communities.

Food security, the sustainable use of natural resources, fighting the changing climatic conditions and ‘Closing the Gap’ with Indigenous communities are significant challenges faced by Australia in the 21st century. EIMA sees these challenges as opportunities which, if addressed with innovative thinking and processes, can be developed into an alternative, sustainable and attractive investment proposition. EIMA has researched and developed a business model that brings together a team of multidisciplinary professionals that are capable of managing large land resources and sophisticated institutional investment in order to deliver sustainable above benchmark financial returns, in addition to environmental, social and cultural returns.

A key factor enabling us to deliver these returns through our business model is the use of ‘Regenerative Agriculture’ (‘RegenAg’) management techniques. Considerable time and effort has been invested into Indigenous community engagement to ensure the business model resonates well with the social and cultural practices of Australia’s largest land-holding group. Similarly, the structuring of the investment vehicle has been completed to ensure EIMA functions at the highest standards of operations, risk management and compliance.
